The previous sections in this chapter have concentrated on footwork variations that are
either specific to eight-beat patterns, or which can be danced as part of either an eight-beat or a six-beat
pattern. This section covers variations that are specific to six-beat moves; throughout this section, beats
1 and 2 correspond to the rock step part of a normal six-beat move (Changing Places, for example).
The normal six-beat rhythm involves three two-beat units with an even-odd-odd pattern of weight changes;
most of the variations in this section involve a change to this rhythm structure, using an even-even-even
pattern.
