The Chase is a jazz step sequence that involves two dancers, each performing slightly different footwork.
The difference comes at beat 5, where the dancer in front slides their legs apart to allow the dancer behind
them to place their foot through their legs. The sequence is typically repeated at least twice, so that both
partners do both variants.

8. B:KfR Start with the follower standing behind the leader, facing in the same direction; both dancers have their weight on their left feet. Both the leader and the follower perform a kick forward with their right feet.

1. B:BR Both the leader and the follower take a step backward on their right feet.

2. B:TL2L Both the leader and the follower close their left feet to their right feet, turning 90° to their left.

3. B:KfR2L Both the leader and the follower perform a kick forward with their right feet, continuing to turn another 90° to their left.

4. B:FR Both the leader and the follower take a step forward on their right feet.

5. M:PfL W:SlSB The leader points forward with his left foot, putting his left foot between the follower's legs. The follower slides along the floor to the side on both her feet. On the second time through, the leader's and follower's steps are swapped.

7. M:TL W:SlTB The leader closes his left foot to his right foot. The follower closes both her feet to her feet. Repeat the sequence with the leader doing the follower's steps and vice versa.
